Pratham has been working in Chhattisgarh since 2007. The 'Read India' programme is operational in 11 blocks of 8 districts. Dhamtribeing the model district for demonstration. 1,357 villages are covered under the programme.
   
The Foundation Course isoperational in theBilaspur, Balod and Sarguja districts. The objective of the programme is to help children in grade 9 in Math, English and soft skills.
   
Foundation Course for Employability (FCE) is a program that aims to provide rural youth with Employability skills. This programme is being conducted in 11 districts of the state.
   
Pratham Open School for Education (POSE) is being implemented in three blocks inBalod, Bilaspur and Sarguja districts respectively. The programmehas completed a year and 251 women participated and sat for the 10th grade state board examination. 63% students successfully passed the exam. .
   
Pratham's Science Programme, is running in the Raigarh district.Children are explained practical application of science in everyday life, engage in activities practicing Science models and form
   
As part of Pratham's Vocational Skilling programme, a PACE Hospitality Training Centre has been set up in Dhamtri. There are two courses been offered arehouse-keeping and food &beverages. Besides this, students are also offered coaching in English, Computer literacy andsoft skills for personality development.
   
Government Tie Ups

The Read India Campaign in Chhattisgarh is in collaboration with UNICEF and the state Government. This programme is carried out in theBastanar, Sukma and Bijapur blocks in three districts. 3,237 children were re-enrolled back to mainstream education as a result of successful implementation.
