West Bengal

Pratham began working in the state of West Bengal in 2007. Some key programmes are:
Read India is active in 10 blocks across 10 districts.
Science fairs and workshops are active in a few locations across the state as part of Pratham's Science programme.
Special Programmes

The Pratham Supported Schools programme is active in two locations, focusing on English, arithmetic, and life skills.
ITC Ltd. funds a special project called 'Read India Plus' that focuses on improving the learning levels of children from pre-school through to year 9. The programme is currently operational near Kolkata and Hooghly.
Larsen & Toubro Finance supports Project Dnyanarpan in 2 locations.
Government Tie Ups

In 2013, Pratham collaborated with UNICEF to enter into a partnership with the West Bengal government. The School Education Department of West Bengal currently implements the Early Literacy & Numeracy Programme to improve the quality of education in backward districts of the state. Pratham will provide training and monitoring support.
