A luxurious extravaganza, the Pratham UK Gala is a highlight of the Indian social calendar and an evening to remember. Attended by top business leaders and corporate heads, it has become established as the place where the best and the brightest meet to raise funds for a very worthy cause. This year we raised over £450,000 for Pratham’s initiatives in India.
Our guests at previous galas have included CEOs- Rakesh Kapoor (Reckitt Benckiser), Anshu Jain (Deutsche Bank), Ivan Menezes (Diageo), Rajeev Vasudeva (Egon Zehnder) and business leaders- members of the Hinduja and Mittal families. Celebrities who have attended the Pratham UK Gala have included painter M F Husain, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and actresses Kajol, Kangana Ranaut and Aditi Rao Hydari as brand ambassadors. This year the Gala began with a fashion show by none other than the legendary Satya Paul and his collection of vibrant saris.
The seated three-course gourmet dinner with wine is followed by a luxury auction which has produced some staggering results in the past with patrons competing with each other on the generosity stakes. You can preview previous year’s galas here – 2016 and 2012.
The gala evening ends with spectacular entertainment and the Pratham UK Gala has had performances by Wajahat Khan on the sarod, Sophie Chowdhry, and Sukhbir. In 2016, we were entertained by Sukhbir, an entertainer par excellence and in 2017, the energetic and vivacious Raageshwari rocked the house with her catchy and familiar tunes.
