Leave a legacy to the future of India

By leaving a legacy to Pratham UK you can change the lives of children for the better.

We understand that deciding who to leave a legacy to is a hugely important decision. It is likely that you will want to leave gifts to some of the people that are closest to you. By choosing to also include Pratham UK in your will you can support the education of many children and young people in India, transforming their lives, and those of their families for generations to come.

Through www.muchloved.com you can also set up a tribute page in memory of a loved one, it provides an opportunity to post pictures and videos, as well as collecting gifts from family and friends that will educate the next generation in India in their memory.

In memory giving

Many people see educating future generations as a wonderful legacy to leave. If you would like to create a tribute fund or collect donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral you can set up a dedicated page for your loved one on www.muchloved.com. A page also allows you to share pictures and videos as well as collect gifts. We would be honoured if you would select Pratham UK as their beneficiary charity and help educate children in India in memory of your loved one.

How to leave a legacy

There are two main ways you can leave a legacy in your will, as either a specific sum of money or a residuary legacy.

If you want to leave to leave a specific amount to Pratham UK this is called a pecuniary legacy. Its real value may decrease over time, due to inflation.

With a residuary legacy you decide what percentage of your estate you want to leave to Pratham UK. This kind of legacy is not lessened by the rate of inflation. It is paid from the residue or remainder of your estate after other debts, liabilities and specific bequests have been made.

If you have already written your will you can have either one of these paragraphs added as a Codicil without needing to rewrite your entire will.

Please contact your solicitor and ask them to insert ONE of the following paragraphs into your will:

I give XX per cent of the residue of my estate both real and personal to Pratham UK, 58-60 Kensington Church St, London, W8 4DB, UK, Registered charity number 1099386 (England and Wales), for their general purposes and the receipt of the proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge for my Trustees.

OR
