Kanesh Balasubramaniam

Kanesh Balasubramaniam is a Partner and Co-Head of European Sponsor Finance and Alternative Credit at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he represents leading global financial sponsors on many of the market-defining leveraged buyouts in Europe and North America.

Recognized as one of the top lawyers in the United Kingdom, Kanesh was named to The Lawyer’s “Hot 100” and honored as a “Rising Star of European Finance 2025” by Financial News, which celebrates exceptional leaders under 40 in finance and professional services. Kanesh holds a Bachelor of Business (First Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University, where he was a President’s Research Scholar, and a Juris Doctor (Summa Cum Laude) from Singapore Management University, where he was a KGC Scholar. Alongside his legal career, he has performed as an operatic tenor at some of Europe’s premier musical institutions and venues.
