Sakate Khaitan

Sakate is the founder and senior partner of Khaitan Legal Associates. He has extensive experience advising leading global and Indian business’ on M&A, JV’s, PE/VC investments, structured products, pre and post default restructuring, prepacks, schemes, insurance, reinsurance and insurance intermediation.  Sakate has headed the India practice of Clyde & Co (UK top 10 law firm) and a partner at Clasis Law and ALMT Legal. During Sakate’s tenure at Clasis Law and under his leadership of the insurance group, Clasis Law was awarded the insurance and reinsurance Law Firm of Year 2013 by the India Business Law Journal.

Sakate and his team make prolific contributions towards thought leadership initiatives in the insurance sector. Sakate works closely with industry organisations such the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as business schools in the area of insurance-sector development and reform. Sakate currently serves as a Board of Trustee on Pratham UK, the UK chapter of the renowned Indian education charity and has read for an MBA at the London Business School, where he co-founded the Indian Business Forum.
