Chai and Chat is a new fundraising initiative from Pratham UK. Inspired by the warmth of Indian hospitality, this campaign invites you to host a Chai-themed gathering with your friends, family, or community – all in support of education for children who need it the most.

From storytelling and games to Bollywood tunes and tasty snacks, Chai and Chat is about sharing joy and making a difference – one cup at a time.

Why Chai and Chat?
Every cup of chai you serve supports Pratham’s mission to reach over 5.6 million children each year through high-quality, low-cost education programmes. Whether you’re helping a child read their first book or supporting a young woman to complete her schooling, your fundraising has real, lasting impact.


How to Host Your Chai and Chat Fundraiser:

— Register with us to receive a Chai and Chat starter pack!

— Choose a date and venue – your kitchen, office, or any community space. 

— Set up a fundraising page on Just Giving to help streamline donations. 

— Share your event on social media – tag us @PrathamUK and use #ChaiAndChat.

— Plan a Chai party! Tea, snacks, karaoke - brewed to your taste. 

— Encourage donations by sharing your JustGiving link or a QR code at your event.

£16 – Provide a better start in life for a child through access to Pratham’s foundational learning initiatives

£40 – Provide vital teaching materials for a woman in Pratham’s Second Chance Programme.

£240 – Enable a woman to be trained in a non-traditional vocational skilling course such as electrics, welding, automotive and other construction allied trades.

£800 – Enable the creation of an easy to access Digital Device Library to serve all children in one whole community.
