Nick Sankey

Nick initially joined Pratham UK  in 2020 as Director of Fundraising, becoming Executive Director in 2023. His passion for India, education and charity work began with six months of volunteering at a school in Kalimpong, West Bengal, during his gap year. He later earned a Master’s in Education for International Development and a PGCE, then spent three years with an anti-child trafficking charity in Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon returning to the UK, Nick built a career in fundraising, leading the Philanthropy and Partnerships teams at World Child Cancer after roles at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and Hope and Homes for Children. He served as a trustee of Child Rescue Nepal for nine years and is a school governor. Nick also established the Thames Path parkrun in Woolwich, where he lives with his wife, Rama, and their two young sons.
