Nick Sankey

Nick’s interest in education, and in India, stemmed from six months volunteering at a school in Kalimpong, West Bengal, during his gap year. He later studied a Masters degree in Education for International Development and a PGCE before living and working for an anti-child trafficking charity in Kathmandu, Nepal for three years. After returning to the UK he began a career in fundraising, most recently leading the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team at World Child Cancer but previously at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and Hope and Homes for Children. He joined Pratham UK in 2020, initially as Director of Fundraising.

Nick was a trustee of Child Rescue Nepal, the charity he worked for in Nepal, for nine years, and during his time as a trustee, he let the process to rename it from the Esther Benjamins Trust. He is also a school governor and has recently set up the new Thames Path parkrun in Woolwich where he lives with his wife, Rama and two young sons.
