Pratham CEO recognised as one of BW Education's 'Most Influential Women in Education 2025'

Pratham UK is thrilled to share that our CEO, Dr Rukmini Banerji has been named one of BW Education’s ‘Most Influential Women in Education 2025’. This prestigious recognition celebrates women who have made a significant impact in the field of education through their vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to driving positive change for the next generation of learners.

Each year, BW Education honours a select group of women from various sectors of education, from leadership positions in schools and universities to those leading the charge in EdTech and grassroots education, with the aim of highlighting the diverse range of women shaping the future of education globally.

The process of selecting these remarkable women is rigorous and involves a thorough review by an advisory council composed of education leaders and experts. This year’s council included influential figures such as Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities; Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya; Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University; KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee; and Noor Fathima Warsia, Group Editorial Director at BW Businessworld.

This recognition reflects Dr Banerji’s tireless work and the commitment of Pratham to improving educational access and quality for children in India, particularly in underserved communities. Under her leadership, Pratham has continued to push the boundaries of what’s possible in education, with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn and succeed.

Executive Director of Pratham UK, Nick Sankey said: “This acknowledgment of Pratham’s leadership in the education sector underscores the growing impact of our work. Our CEO’s inclusion in this esteemed list is a reflection of Pratham’s ongoing dedication to empowering young learners and educators everywhere.
